AWARD is a non-profit voluntary development organization. The founder of this organization was directly involved in the liberation war. He is a student of the science department of the then Rangamati Government High School in the Master Colony of Chittagong Hill Tracts. In 1970 the Chhatra League started in Chittagong Hill Tracts, in view of the efforts of the then student leader Mr. Saber Ahmed Asgari. He was elected GS of Rangamati Government High School in 1971 and Kazi Md. Abul Kalam Azad was elected Deputy General Secretary of Nagar Chhatra League. The then General Secretary of the District Chhatra League Babu Gautam Dewan unanimously decided to give Kazi Abul Kalam Azad as the General Secretary of the District Independent Bangladesh Chhatra Parishad as the then Central Chhatra League decided not to assume the responsibility of the Independent Bangladesh Student Association And he gladly accepted the title. Thus, his involvement with the Liberation War. It is to be noted here that at that time Mr. HT Imam was the Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Hill Tracts.

Some individuals who were involved in the spirit of the War of Liberation or the War of Liberation were self-appointed to rehabilitate the government as well as the rest of the people, in keeping with the promise of creating a war-devastated country. Over time, they became known as a private development company or NGO in this country. The goal of NGOs is to – liberate them from the barricades where the poor are bound, to enable them to improve their destiny by analyzing the position of the poor, by awakening their dormant prospects and utilizing the opportunities available, transforming them from the most inactive people to active citizens.
